Day 2SingaporeSingapore: This morning start your city tour from where it all began for colonial Singapore at the Raffles Landing Site. This is where Sir Stamford Raffles is believed to have first stepped ashore in 1819 in search of a new trading port for the British East India Company. Continue with a walk through the Colonial District which forms the very heart of Singapore. See the former Parliament House, the Victoria Theatre which was originally built as the Town Hall in 1862 and across the road the Old Supreme Court Building. Later discover the contrasts of Singapore with visits to Chinatown and Little India, a Cultural Insight. Chinatown has evolved since 1821 and was the area many Chinese immigrants headed for on arrival to the then British colony. Continue with a visit to Little India to discover a district rich in culture and deeply rooted in the traditions of the Indian community. Later visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and take a walk through the National Orchid Garden which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchids. Day 3SingaporeSingapore: Start your day with a visit to a typical Peranakan home and admire the many antiques and treasures worthy of any museum collection. The Peranakans are straits-born Chinese who are descendants of Chinese immigrants many of who married the local Malays in the region. Meet and chat with the hosts to learn about their heritage and culture while enjoying some typical Peranakan tea time treats, a Cultural Insight. This evening visit a Chinese calligrapher in Chinatown, a Local Specialist and see a demonstration on the art of Chinese Calligraphy. Enjoy dinner at a local Chinese restaurant before walking through the narrow lanes of the Night Market and test your bargaining skills with the street vendors selling everything from souvenirs to leather goods. Later take a trishaw ride from Chinatown back to your hotel.Buffet Breakfast, Dinner
Day 4MalaccaSingapore - Malacca (2 Nights): This morning say goodbye to Singapore as you head for the border with Malaysia and then on to your hotel in Malacca. Enjoy some free time this afternoon before taking a boat cruise along the Malacca River. Sail past historic buildings, old warehouses (godowns), churches and villages. Return to the hotel for dinner and a relaxing evening.Buffet Breakfast, Dinner

Day 5MalaccaMalacca: Start the day with a walking tour of the historical city of Malacca with a Local Specialist. From the river walk to Dutch Square which is surrounded by red painted buildings and reflects the history of Malacca; the Dutch administration, the British colonisation and the Chinese settlers. Proceed to the top of Malacca Hill and then onwards along the river to Kampung Kuli to discover some traditional crafts. Later visit a local family home in Kampung Cantik to enjoy your Be My Guest lunch followed by a walk around the village, with a Local Specialist. Learn about rubber tapping; a process by which latex is collected from a rubber tree and participate in the process of turning the coagulated latex into rubber sheets. Continue your village walk passing by quaint Malacca kampong stilt houses and discover the exotic nutmeg fruits, aromatic curry leaves, lemon grass and various seasonal fruits. Day 6Kuala LumpurMalacca - Kuala Lumpur (2 Nights): This morning travel to the capital, Kuala Lumpur and on arrival enjoy your city tour starting off with a photo stop at the Kings Palace. Next visit the National Mosque, Independent Square and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building a Moorish-style building built in 1897 and named after the reigning sultan of Selangor at the time. Later visit the impressive Sky Bridge at the 88 storey high Petronas Twin Towers which at approximately 452 metres is the tallest twin structure in the world. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure.Buffet Breakfast

Day 7Kuala LumpurKuala Lumpur: Leave behind the modern high-rise skyscrapers and discover another side to Kuala Lumpur. Wander the streets of a typical Malay village 'Kampung Baru' with its traditional small Malay houses. Try some Malaysian style sweets and cakes at local food stalls before venturing through the wet Chow Kit market where locals and hawkers haggle over prices. Later this morning travel outside the city to visit a village inhabited by the 'Orang Asli', an ethnic group which are widely regarded as being Malaysia's original inhabitants, a Cultural Insight. Take a walk around the village with a Local Specialist and observe the local people weaving various handicrafts. Enjoy a local style lunch all cooked in bamboo followed by some fun and games before returning to Kuala Lumpur for an evening at leisure.Buffet Breakfast, Lunch
Day 8Cameron HighlandsKuala Lumpur - Batu Caves - Cameron Highlands: After breakfast drive into the countryside and make a short stop at the Selangor Pewter factory before continuing to the Batu Caves; one of Malaysia's most iconic sights. They are located on a limestone hill and consist of three major caves and a number of smaller ones which house temples that have been drawing Hindu pilgrims for more than 120 years. En route to the Cameron Highlands stop to visit a cottage industry to observe a Local Specialist making bamboo baskets followed by a photo stop at the Lata Iskandar Waterfall before continuing to Tanah Rata to check in at your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is yours at leisure followed by dinner at the hotel.Buffet Breakfast, Dinner

Day 9PenangCameron Highlands - Georgetown (Penang) (3 Nights): Today explore the Cameron Highlands which at 1542 meters above sea level is Malaysia's most extensive hill station. Make a photo stop at a tea plantation before visiting a tea factory and meet a Local Specialist to gain an insight into how the tea leaves are processed to make the perfect cup of tea. En route to Penang visit the Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple in Ipoh, a famous Chinese Buddhist Temple considered to be the largest cave temple in the country with impressive works of art and various statues of Buddha interspersed among the stalactites and stalagmites. Next make a stop at the majestic Ubudiah Mosque in Kuala Kangsar with its golden dome and minarets and also at the Iskandarish Palace, the official residence of the Sultan of Perak. This two floor riverside palace was completed in 1933 and is an intriguing mix of Arab and art-deco architectural styles. Next visit Khoo Kongsi, a Chinese clan house which is a building where Chinese families of the same surname gather together to worship their ancestors. It is a magnificent building embellished with intricate carvings and woodwork. Day 11GeorgetownGeorgetown - Ayer Itam - Penang Hill - Georgetown: This morning travel to Ayer Itam and visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, a majestic Buddhist Taoist temple which is the cornerstone of the Malay-Chinese community that provided the funding for its two decade long building works. Its key features are the striking seven-storey Pagoda of Rama VI with its 10,000 statues of Buddha and the 36.5 metres high bronze statue of Kuam Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Later ascend Penang Hill, 830 meters above sea level, on a Swiss funicular railway that passes through hill farms and the lush tropical jungle with breathtaking views of Penang and the mainland.
